We played at Riley’s’ down in Albany last night—thanks to all the folks that braved the drive and then the brutal challenges with sound. When we did get the sound going, there was dancing and a lot of fun. They invited us back to play but this time promising a person to run the sound.  This was our first full set performance and a great trial by fire with everyone except me coming out of it with their hair intact.

It was said that we should play slower songs for dancing. This is different than what we had discussed as a band a few weeks ago. We thought that we should be playing tunes with faster tempo in the theme of Mr. Enthralled. What I thought was interesting was that folks are liking different songs. One person will say they love Sweetest Soul, while another said she broke her speakers out on Grand Ontronce and yet another thought that Red Rice was really “catchy.”

These are good reports telling us that we are on track to be a cover-free, eclectic, likeable band. We have about 15 tunes and another 10 that are framed up but needing some guts. These next two weekends we are booked at private parties, and then setting up a few gigs in the Salem area. . Then we will be working on a music video while final mastering of the Stray Puppets album at Cherry Recording Studio
