Alley Home (M. Polacek)
In the spring of 2013, before the band was a band, we were playing around in Chris’s garage which is just a house away from an old time Holy Ghost church. One day the doors were open and a car pulled up in front of the open garage doors as we were playing Grand Ontrance. A person hopped out of the driver’s seat and Adem boogied in and boogied out. Since then, he has become a great friend and built the puppets and stage on this cover.
Lyrics
Alley Home
They don’t wear no stockings with their stilettos,
In the alley, cuz they’re at home
They will dance commando under the moonlight
In the alley, cuz they’re at home
They’re going home, leave them alone
When they’re at home, leave them alone!
David Niven cool with tails and martinis
In our alley, he’d be at home
Mischief makers and merry pranksters
In our ally, you’re all at home.
When we’re at home, better leave us alone!
Sweet alley home
Where we mend our broken souls
Sweet alley home
Where only soft souls like us come
Like cows dodging slaughter, we all can jump and holler
In our alley, we’re free to roam
All our neighbors love us and beg to be our chorus
In our alley, even they’re at home
David Niven cool with tails and martinis
In our alley, he’d be at home
Mischief makers and merry pranksters
In our ally, you’re all at home.
When we’re at home, better leave us alone!
